June 1st 2018 Don't Convince The World
Today is June first which means we are halfway through the year. Which would normally mean I would do a mid-year rant about gauging your goal progress. So why not throw a changeup and teach everyone an important lesson. So let's get into today's topic.
Nope this title is not clickbait, today's topic is about not trying to convince the world. You cannot please everyone and that's what I want to talk about. There is an old saying that goes "No matter how hard you try you can't please everyone." I agree with this saying one hundred percent, hence why I'm writing about it. Most of us know this saying but yet we take it to heart when someone disagrees with our ideology. How do I know that some people can't be pleased? I've worked the past ten years in retail and I have witnessed it with my own two eyes. On the customer service survey I have seen customers give low ratings just because they felt that no interaction could ever deserve the top score. To put it in the customer'd exact words "We as humans are not perfect so you can not expect to get a perfect score." People like that will never be happy no matter what you do.
So Josh, how do we deal with the people we can't convince AKA the people that we can't make happy. Absolutely nothing! Stop caring what people say or think about you or your business and live your life. You probably thought I was going to give you some secret tip on how to deal with these types of people but nope. You just have to ignore them and don't let them to bring you down. If they are one of your clients then do the best that you can. Bad reviews will come but the good reviews will always outweigh them. Cater to the audience that likes you already instead of trying to get the ones that hate you to like you.
